Additional features in the larger vehicles include microwaves and air-conditioning. Air-conditioning is always included in the driver's cab but you need to check if it is also at the rear of the vehicle too. Spain can get very hot in the summer months. Please also note that the air-conditioning and the microwave only work when connected to a main power supply.

If you are a senior citizen and have retired or you are on your honeymoon then Spain offers discounts on campervan hire. Conditions apply:“This special is only available for Pensioners & Just Married People. Marriage certification should be provided when you pick up the vehicle. Pensioner normally is minimum of 65 years old.

This special offer is not available for one pensioner travelling with the others passengers without pensioner condition. It is only available for the pensioner travelling with his wife and/or children less than 18 years old (children or grandchildren).”

Transfers to and from the campervan rental suppliers depots:

Leave your car at the depot. There is sometimes a small charge for this service and sometimes it is free. Arriving at the airport: Some companies offer free transfers from both hotels and the airport but not in all depots.It is a popular option in Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga.Often the depots are right next to the airport so are a short walk or a short taxi ride away.

Household kit

A Household kit is on request only for International customers. The household kit is not available for domestic customers.

The Kit includes: Set of dishes, glasses, coffee cups, cutlery (knives, spoons, forks). Coffee machine, saucepan, frying pan, skimming ladle, can opener, cooking pot, sleeping bag/s, pillows.

If you require any extra specific items, please place your request at the time of booking and we can price this item for you. If you require the household kit please ensure you request this item as it is not a standard inclusion. The Household Kit is available for hire at a cost of approx €100.00″

Good quality campervans and motorhomes

We offer companies that have good quality campervans and motorhomes but also have enough vehicles on their fleet so that in the event of damage or breakdown – yes, it sometimes does happen! – they have back up vehicles. Some smaller companies ask why we won’t include them on our booking engine and this is one of the main reasons even if they pass our strict quality requirements.

Campervan and motorhome rental insurance:

All campervan and motorhome rentals in Spain are insured. The level of insurance liability does change depending on the company that provides the rental vehicle. Check the insurance excess as this is the customer’s liability. This has to be covered by a credit card. An example of details contained in a rental contract are below:

• Insurance

  Motorhomes mentioned in this contract are insured according to law , with a €600.00 (this may vary and can be as high as €1600.00) excess deposit. If there are any accidents during the term of the rental contract, the customer is liable for that amount.

• Security Deposit

  In order to guarantee good use and correct return of the vehicle, a Security Deposit of €600.00 to €1000.00, or more by credit card is required before departure, (accepted credit cards are -Visa, Mastercard).

  The security deposit will be refunded after the vehicle has been thoroughly checked. This may take a couple of weeks before it appears on your credit card statement. If there is any damage the customer will be advised of the cost to repair the damage and the amount will be deducted from the security deposit.

• Personal travel insurance:

  Each customer is advised to take out their own travel insurance and this covers medical emergencies and belongings cover. The campervan hire company’s insurance covers the vehicle only.

• Motorhome and campervan travel insurance:

  Please check as some credit card companies offer travel insurance as part of their package. Sometimes travel insurance included vehicle excess cover on rental vehicles too. It is worth checking so that you don’t pay twice.

Minimum rental when renting a campervan or motorhome in Spain:

Minimum rent is usually around 3 days outside of high season. High season can be up to 14 days minimum in some areas. This only occurs during high season (July and August) or over Easter.

Other conditions that apply when renting a campervan in Spain:

All campervan and motorhome renters need a credit card in their own name.

Drivers must be 25 years old or older. In some cases with sleeper cars drivers as young as 21 can rent a camper.

All drivers must have a valid driving licence. If it is a European licence then that is sufficient. If the renter is from outside of Europe then an international driving licence is required.

Are Pets allowed in Rented Motorhomes, Spain?

Some companies allow pets with an additional cleaning charge.

Restricted areas that you can’t drive your campervan:

Customers are advised on collection of areas they are not allowed to travel to. These include Morocco, Bosnia and Russia.

Contracts between the renter and the campervan rental supplier:

There is a rental contract to read and sign on collection of all rental vehicles. Please ask at the depot if you are not sure of any of the conditions.
